Inspirational Quote

“Without knowing what I am and why I am here, life is impossible.” –Leo Tolstoy

Interests and Hobbies

My main hobby is spending time with my two children, playing, learning and traveling with them. I enjoy any sport that I have an opportunity to engage in, mainly running, lifting weights, swimming, tennis, skiing, and ice skating. I love history, learning foreign languages, and preparing and tasting new foods.

Brief Biography

I was born in Slovakia. With pride I say “the heart of Europe”, and feel very fortunate to have grown up there. I was in my University Master’s program in Slovakia when I met my husband, who is from Pennsylvania. We got married in Slovakia, moved to Pennsylvania, then returned to Slovakia while my husband interned with the regional UNDP office in Bratislava and I worked as a financial advisor at Slovakia’s largest international bank. We then moved to Ohio where we both worked at the University of Mount Union, he in study abroad and I in teaching math. We made the decision to move to Vermont because we knew what a great place it would be to raise our children. My husband began working at UVM as a study abroad advisor, and I began my teaching career in Vermont at Missisquoi Valley Union Middle & High school. Currently we live in Saint Albans with our two wonderful sons, Tristan and Serge.
