Interests and Hobbies

All sports, but tennis and basketball are my favorites, photography, swimming, exploring the outdoors, movies (all kinds but horror), and spending time with family.

Brief Biography

I was born and raised in Vermont, attended Bowdoin College in Maine, and then proceeded to live in various parts of the country (Sun Valley, ID Boston, and Washington, DC). I spent a number of years working as an environmental consultant, but as much as I enjoyed the work I knew it wasn’t the right career for me. After moving to DC, I was hired to coach tennis and basketball at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Coaching soon turned into teaching and I realized right away that I had found what I was meant to do. It is an amazing thing to have a role in shaping the growth of a young person, to work with passionate and dedicated colleagues, and to be in an environment where I can continue my own learning journey. It’s been ten years since I first stepped in front of a class and I still love to come to work every day. And now I get to be a part of the incredible VCS community in the State that has always been my home. Life is good.
